Housing and Your Aid

For the 2023-2024 academic year, the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office (FAS) will generate financial aid packages based on the Housing status reported on the FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application (On Campus, Off Campus or Living with Parent). As housing is a substantial part of the bill, changing your housing status can have a big impact on your financial aid. For selected students only, Housing Lease Verification is scheduled beginning in October. Please review your UC San Diego email address and FAS Student Portal in Tritonlink for any updated requirements.

Effective for the 2024-2025 academic year, the FAFSA and CA Dream Act Application (CADAA) is no longer providing institutions with the projected Housing status, which impacts financial aid offers for the year. As a result the campus will project student’s housing status and provide a form where students can update us with their housing plans prior to generating financial aid offers. This will be available in the financial aid portal on TritonLink during Spring 2024. It is important for students to notify FAS of Housing changes moving between On Campus, Off Campus and Living with Parent. For more information please visit our 2024-2025 Housing FAQ.
