UC San Diego does not determine your eligibility for the Cal Vet College Fee Waiver. Apply through your local California county Veterans Service Office.

California College Fee Waiver
The California Veterans College Fee Waiver provides for a waiver of mandatory tuition and student-services fees for UC matriculated students who qualify. You must be a California resident to receive the California Veterans College Fee Waiver.
The benefit does not cover:
- Non-resident supplemental tuition
- Campus-based fees
- Per-unit charges of any self-supporting degree program
- Housing, books, or health insurance costs
The waiver can be used during UC San Diego Summer Sessions and will apply to per-unit course fees only.
How to Apply

Download the college fee waiver application from the California Department of Veterans Affairs.

Submit the application and all required supporting documents to your county Veterans Service Office (VSO).

Most county offices send a copy of your authorization letter directly to UC San Diego, or you can mail or fax your authorization letter to UC San Diego's Registrar's Office:

Your tuition and student-services fees are waived upon receipt of the authorization letter.
